American History Homework
Choose One of the following tasks and have it ready for next week
1. Be an artist: Draw a picture of an American colonial scene. It could be a work, trade, or leisure time. Keep in mind how the Colonial Americans dressed and what the environment would have looked like. The picture will be graded on content not artistic skill. The more elements in the picture the better.
2. Be an investigator: Research Colonial daily life. Photocopy or print off a picture of a Scott-Irish, German or English settler of the era. Create margins and detail with written descriptions of what the elements in the picture are.
3. Be a writer: Write a one page paper on a small pox or another devastating disease of colonial America . This could also include Indian populations, settlers, cities, and sailors. Don't focus as much on spelling, though you should try to answer as many who, what, when where, and whys as possible.
4. Be a builder: Build a colonial house. Make a model out of sticks, toothpicks, Popsicle sticks, paper, cloth, glue, rope, and or floral foam. Do a little research on what a colonial style house, log cabin, or clapboard house would look like.. Also keep in mind not to make it so big that it would be difficult to bring into class.
5. Be a Bible scholar: Make your own New England Primer. Using Bible verses create your own page of instructions to teach basic grammar and vocabulary. You may need to research an existing Primer for inspiration.

If you have any question about your homework or if you know ahead of time that it will be late, please email me or call.
