European History Homework 13
Choose One of the following tasks and have it ready for next class
1. Be an artist: Draw a picture of Napoleon. It could be a portrait, battle, exile, or of him as a kid. Keep in mind how they dressed and what the environment would have looked like. The picture will be graded on content not artistic skill. The more elements in the picture the better.
2. Be an investigator: Research the battle of Waterloo. How did it happen? Find some battle plans or some kind of image that gives insight to the battle. Photocopy or print off the picture. Create margins and detail with written descriptions of how the battle went and what happened.
3. Be a writer: Write a one page paper on Metternich. What influenced his political views? What was his early life like? What did he accomplish? Don't focus as much on spelling, though you should try to answer as many who, what, when where, and whys as possible.
4. Be a builder: Build a guillotine! Please don't make this gory or too functional. Make the guillotine out of sticks, toothpicks, Popsicle sticks, glue, rope, wood, and or floral foam. Do a little research to see what the guillotine would have looked like. Also keep in mind not to make it so big that it would be difficult to bring into class.
5. Be a Bible Scholar: Write a one page paper about faith under persecution. During the period of Robespierre the French outlawed Christianity. After Napoleon Catholic clergy were payed by the government. What does the Bible say about faith while persecuted vs. faith in an environment of compromise?
If you have any question about your homework or if you know ahead of time that it will be late, please email me.
